I have been trying my hand at digital sculpting. Just tried a monster bust. More like a spontaneous form visualization. For the first time I got into detailing, found it very engaging as well as challenging! Dint follow anatomy by the book, just a loose expression. Loved exaggerating the form with the flow. My dear friends, just another weekend is counting on changing its look to bring us another wonderful set of days! I have not done much but have successfully finished painting the Lord Vishnu and Arjun sketch. It was great fun. :) The intention was to make lord vishnu bright and beautiful and to also lead the eye to Arjun who is in this blissful state. Since the design is intricate, I stuck to flats, and didn't render the elements too much. So here is the blessings of lord Vishnu for all! :) Have a gorgeous week to come guys.

I have been thinking of trying my hands in digital sculpting, and here is the first WIP for you all. Its not done yet... but my excitement wouldn't let me resist from showing it to you guys.

My dear friends, its been really long and finally I have something to show you guys. The illustration is a traditionally inked and hand painted piece. I have lot more happening in my mind but that will take time to come out. I believe that women are more powerful than men and are the origin of the human race. I have illustrated this goddess who has got 'the soul' in her hand and is about to send it to Earth to give it a new journey.

Hey guys! Hope you are all doing great. This post has got a special significance. After reading a bit more, you will come to know about it! The Friday that just passed, had plenty of fun filled activities for the Rhythm & Hues employees. The LA server was shut the whole day, so India decided to have a day with no work but some awesome activities. Morning started off with games, whistling and loud hooting. Ok, ok...I am coming to the point now. Last week we started our tt tournament. And a few matches were pushed to this Friday, of course, that involved semi's and final's. Second half of the day was allocated for the tournament matches. I was all ready to lose the match! Yes...I had already played two matches and lost one. This match was crucial. But I for sure knew that I was going to lose. For my opponent was Vinod. He is just brilliant! The way he meets the ball and sends it back with variety of spins and god knows what! It was just too difficult for me and others to play him. Well....thats why I had this strong belief that I was going to lose. And I did...with the score 1-21. He was bloody good! And I saw nothing! and I couldn't move my hand and I forgot my shots and I was blank! He won the finals. Back home, I thought I should do something for this cool player. So I came up with this illustration. Congratulations Vinod sir! And.. and....I am not giving up on my tt skills. I shall raise again to face you in the next tournament... hehehahahahahahahahahaha

yesterday, i was in search of a face to complete my mission. Which one to choose? "should be one of my friends" i thought. As i was going through our library of photos and memories, i saw an interesting lable on a folder. GOA 2008! Wow! Such awesome time we had in Goa. the scooter ride,the heavy rain and some awesome games! As i was going through the pics, i came across My friend manil's pic. Without any hesitation i took my sketch pad and start sketching. After a long time i let my hand "render" a sketch using a pencil. Here it is.... Manil paji! smile please... :D

This morning when i woke up, i heard the inner calling to hold the brush again. :) After a hot cup of tea i was browsing through a couple of books, looking for a subject. Well... this one attracted me. I quickly pulled out the acrylic tube box and dusted it first, damn...! The long awaited salvation of the color tubes! honestly i had fun doing this piece. Nothing like feeling the acrobatics of the tip of the brush on the canvas. A bit of touches here and there in photoshop and there you go... hope you guys like it!

"the power to endure the creation". My sentence hardly made it sound as impactful or magnificent as it actually is in its real nature. we all know it and we all have experienced it unknowingly. the world functions because of her, the world exists in her. in-fact she is the world!

hello guys! hope you are all doing great. here is something that i have been thinking of creating for a long time. every time i pass by intelnet(a company that is situated close to R&H)i see this guard roaming around with a stick in his hand. he is unkempt, dirty, and a bit repulsive looking guy. i got a bit of free time and i thought i will try to capture his image i have on mind. well...thats exactly the one that you are looking at. my character still looks much much better then the real one. :)

hey guys! another quick update! During my post graduation in animation film design, in national institute of design i have had made an animated short film called "the rain dance", which was my diploma project(almost three years back!). The short film has won a few awards in India and outside. Its a very simple and emotional story. What i am going to show you guys, is one of the concept sketches that i was making before the production of my short film! The film was a one man show and more over an ambitious project for me. After a year of sweat i finished the film. whenever i look back, i still feel that i could have done a better job. But considering my knowledge, skills and the dead line at that point of time. A pat on my back....i pulled it off decently. :)

narasimha is one of the incarnations of god vishnu who is the form of volcanic fierce and (absolute)anger. the scriptures say that he appeared to kill Hiranyakashipu the father of Prahlada a devoted follower of god vishnu. Hiranyakashipu asked prahlada "where does vishnu dwell"? to this prahlada answered that god is everywhere! and in anger hiranyakashipu screams "if your god is there in this pillar let him come out and fight with me!!! he breaks the pillar and from the pillar narasimha appears and kills him. His extreme anger didn't stop even after killing hiranyakashipu. So the deva's ran to vishnu's wife lakshmi to help the situation. the scriptures say that lakshmi came down to bring him back to his normal self. (woman power!!!) to continue with the rudra form of shiv here is narasimha another rudra(anger) form. :)

After making "Ardhnarishwar", the form of god shiva is still nailed in my mind. And i have decided to go with the flow. Rudra is a very powerful and fearsome form of god shiva. i was very fascinated with the mere form of the very angry wild and random explosion of his form. And thats what i tried to capture in this illustration.

But for those who don't know, he is god shiv who gave his half to his wife Paarvathi to show this world that men and women are equals. And the concept of having features and characteristics of man and woman in the same body fascinated me. I didn't hesitate to materialize it. i still feel that there is room for improvement in this. have a look!

i got this theme "levitation" from one of my friends. so, was generally doodling some random stuff. Actually enjoyed doing the wrinkled guy with the flying slug at the back with its tentacles sucking his skin(for the grip) that can take him across the sea. :) and the the big fish, "sheblob" is also an outcome of some random thoughts in my mind. i am thinking of coloring both the sketches. lets see how they turn out to be!
